We're proud to announce that David Marr, a participant in the Teaching American History Grant has been named the 2009 Vermont History Teacher of the Year by the The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History (for more information, visit www.gilderlehrman.org)

Mr. Marr is a third grade teacher at Castleton Elementary School. He has been involved in teaching there for nearly 20 years.

His principal, Mrs. Carole Pickett says of him: " Dave Marr is an outstanding teacher. He is a gifted story teller, a life-long learner and an avid reader. He is generous with his knowledge and his enthusiasm is both inspiring and contagious. He is the perfect teacher to be recognized with the 2009 History Teacher of the Year Award."
